Starting the journey
Warm, trauma-informed counselling for emotional abuse, narcissistic abuse, gaslighting, coercive control and trauma bonds.

The first thing I want you to know is this:
You do not have to prove what happened to you when you’re with me. You don’t need to find the “right” words or convince me that your experience was real.
If you’ve been left questioning your reality, your memories or even who you are, you’re not alone.
Whether you’re still in the relationship, thinking about leaving or trying to rebuild your life afterwards, you deserve support from someone who understands the lasting impact of emotional and narcissistic abuse. The effects often reach far beyond the relationship itself, influencing your nervous system, confidence, sense of identity and ability to trust yourself.
I offer specialist counselling for people affected by emotional abuse, narcissistic abuse, gaslighting and coercive control. Sessions are available face to face in Cheshire and online throughout the UK.
Together, we’ll work to help you understand what you’ve experienced, reduce self-blame, rebuild healthy boundaries and begin trusting yourself again.

Does This Sound Familiar?
You may feel as though you’re constantly walking on eggshells.
Perhaps you’re emotionally exhausted, questioning what really happened or struggling to trust your own thoughts and decisions. You might feel trapped by guilt, fear or a sense of obligation. Maybe you’ve lost confidence in yourself, feel ashamed that you stayed, have become isolated from people who matter to you or are finding it difficult to move forward even though the relationship has ended.
If any of this resonates with you, you’re in the right place.
You don’t need a label before reaching out
Many people seek counselling because they’re trying to make sense of what they’ve lived through. You may be wondering whether it was emotional abuse, narcissistic abuse, gaslighting or coercive control.
You don’t need to have all the answers before contacting me.
We can explore your experiences together, gently and without judgement, at a pace that feels safe for you. There is no pressure to make decisions before you’re ready.
About emotional abuse
Common experiences after emotional or narcissistic abuse.
Many people I work with have experienced:
- Gaslighting
- Emotional manipulation
- Coercive control
- Love bombing followed by devaluation
- Chronic criticism
- Silent treatment
- Blame shifting
- Trauma bonds
- Isolation from family and friends
- Loss of confidence, identity and self-worth
- Anxiety, hypervigilance and self-doubt
Everyone’s experience is unique, and you don’t need to identify with all of these for your feelings to matter.

Support for emotional or narcissistic abuse
How counselling, can help.
Our work together provides a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can begin to reconnect with yourself.
Counselling may help you to:
- Understand the impact of emotional or narcissistic abuse
- Recognise patterns of manipulation and coercive control
- Reduce self-blame and self-doubt
- Better understand trauma bonds
- Develop healthier boundaries
- Reduce anxiety and hypervigilance
- Rebuild confidence and self-trust
- Reconnect with your identity and values
- Feel more empowered to make choices that feel right for you
The aim isn’t simply to survive what happened, but to help you move towards a life that feels calmer, more connected and more like your own.
A pace that feels right for you
Sessions move at a pace that feels manageable. You won’t be pushed to talk about painful experiences before you’re ready.
Sometimes the first step is simply creating enough safety and stability to begin making sense of what you’ve been through. From there, we can work together to support your recovery in a way that feels sustainable.
Important
If you’re in immediate danger or believe you’re at risk of harm, please contact the emergency services or a specialist domestic abuse support service.
Counselling supports recovery, understanding and rebuilding your sense of self, but it is not a substitute for emergency assistance, crisis support or urgent safety planning.
